News & Events
Dear Fellow Saginaw GOP Republicans,

Hi everybody, I have withdrawn my resignation.  Sorry for the confusion.

Sincerely,
Amy Carl,
your Chair

RIP John Rapanos
On a sad note, longtime freedom activist John Rapanos of Midland died on February 10, 2016.  He was 80 and will be missed by Republicans across the Great Lakes Bay Region.  If you wish to send an electronic note to the family, you can do so at his obituary.  If you don't know John, MLive News has a nice article about John's well-known decades-long fight with the EPA.

Saginaw County Republican Lincoln Day Gala
The Saginaw County Republican Party will hold its annual Lincoln Day event on Saturday, March 5, 2016.  This year's event will be at the Birch Run Expo Center, 11600 N. Beyer Road, at I-75 Exit 136, Birch Run, and will be catered by Sullivan's Black Forest Catering.

Festivities begin at 6:00pm with a cocktail hour, and dinner is at 7:00pm.  We will announce results of a Presidential Primary Straw Poll at 9:30 and keep on partying until 11:00pm.  Musical entertainment will be provided by The Justified Quartet, the keynote address will be by Congressman John Moolenaar of Michigan's 4th District, and host and MC will be State Representative Tim Kelly.

There will also be a special tribute to Mackinac Center for Public Policy to be presented by 98th District State Representative Gary Glenn.  You can also take this opportunity to sign up as Precinct Delegates: we will handle the paperwork.

AND, we have invited all the remaining Republican Presidential Candidates, just 3 days before the Michigan Primary, so you never know who may show up!!  Tickets are $50 per person and are available at Eventbrite, or by calling Greg Schmidt at 989-799-4641.  While at Eventbrite, you can listen to a sample of music from The Justified Quartet or take part in an early Presidential Primary Straw Poll, the results of which will be announced at the party.

So buy your tickets today and come celebrate with your fellow Republicans!

FreePAC Morning in America Summit
Radio host Andrew Wilkow will be emceeing the second presidential summit "FreePAC Morning in America", in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 12th, 2016.  The event is from 2:00-6:00pm at the Duke Energy Convention Center, 525 Elm Street, Cincinnati, Ohio. If you have heard Andrew Wilkow on his radio show the Wilkow Majority on SiriusXM Patriot channel 125, you know the kind of perfectly executed political analysis he delivers.

And, to complement him, FreedomWorks' Senior Economic Contributor, Stephen Moore, will be joining Wilkow in Cincinnati. You may have seen Stephen Moore on Fox News or read his economic insights in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times, or in other leading national newspapers. He's one of the leading free-market minds in the country today.

Plus, every major Republican presidential candidate has been invited, including Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Marco Rubio, Dr. Ben Carson, and businessman Donald Trump.  Your favorite may show up, so make plans to come!  Tickets are at Eventbrite.

County Republican Convention Coming Up
The Saginaw County Republican Party will hold its Spring County Convention on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Fire Station at 3211 McCarty Road, Saginaw.  The Convention room is located on the west side of the building with entry doors on both the north and the south side of the building.  You will receive a formal call to convention as it gets closer...I just wanted to give everyone a "heads up."
