News & Events
Dear Fellow Saginaw GOP Republicans,

As you already know, the 2016 election cycle will prove to be very exciting! If you are interested in being a candidate for an open local or county wide seats, please let me know as soon as possible. You may also want to consider attending the CTV Political Leadership Academy on October 23-24, 2015. See the details about this incredible opportunity in the article below.

There is also an opportunity to serve on the Saginaw County Republican Executive Committee as we currently have an open seat. Nominations for this open seat will be taken at the next meeting on November 12th at 7:00pm. We meet the second Thursday of every month except for the month of December. We will be having our annual Christmas party at Spencer's Route 46 on Gratiot Rd, on December 10, 2015.

Thank you so much for your generous support, and I hope to see you at one of our events soon!

Sincerely,
Amy Carl, Chair

Mystery Republican Donors to Match State Contributions
From now until November 6th, you have the unique opportunity to get double the bang for your buck.  Some of the Michigan Republican State Party's longest and most active supporters have offered to match ALL contributions until then, dollar-for-dollar, up to $65,000!

This will be a feat, but one we cannot let pass us by. With new resources, we can double the number of yard signs available across the state next year. We can double the phone calls to undecided voters and we can double the mail to help elect a Republican leader our nation can be proud of.  We only have 30 days to take advantage of this opportunity. Please donate to the Michigan Republican Party today!

Since 1995, the Citizens for Traditional Values Political Leadership Academy has trained hundreds of Michigan candidates. This dynamic and informative campaign school features some of the best and most conservative state and national experts who know how to run - and win - a campaign. A significant number of PLA attendees have gone on to hold public office including Lt. Governor Brian Calley, Speaker of the House Jase Bolger, Senate Education Committee Chair Phil Pavlov, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Rick Jones, and House Majority Floor Leader Jim Stamas.

We are pleased to announce that the CTV Political Leadership Academy will be held this year on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24. As in previous years, Great Lakes Christian College has graciously offered to host the two day seminar and Citizens for Traditional Values  greatly appreciates partnering with such a well-respected institution. They are also honored to have Matt Robbins, President of American Majority, as the keynote speaker. Matt Robbins has personally trained thousands of political activists coast to coast and in several foreign countries on campaign management, communications and party and candidate development.

Campaign Tool Chest
Another campaign training event will be hosted by the Michigan Conservative Union, Michigan Freedom To Work, and other groups on Saturday, October 24th.  This Campaign Tool Chest will be from 9:00am-5:00pm at the Ramada Lansing Hotel and Conference Center, 7501 West Saginaw Highway, Lansing.

The training seminar will present information to help candidates and their teams to:
  • survey and prioritize their district,
  • research themselves and opponents,
  • plan the campaign,
  • hammer home their message,
  • raise the roof on fundraising, and
  • nail down the winning votes.
Expert faculty includes:
  • Richard Viguerie, historian, Conservative Icon fund raiser, author, and strategist,
  • Richard Studley, Chair, Michigan Chamber of Commerce, and
  • Norm Hughes, Top Michigan Conservative Strategist, consultant, and organizer,

There will also be panels of donors and currently serving elected officials presenting more information.  If you're considering running for office, this is the place for you.  General Admission Participant includes continental breakfast and keynote lunch, and campaign manual.  Tickets are $49 per person and you can purchase tickets at Eventbrite.

Next Republican Presidential Debate is October 28th
The next Republican Presidential Debate will be telecast on CNBC on October 28th.  It will feature the same two-tiered podium of previous debates. The main debate is expected to include fewer candidates due to revised poll numbers.

The Saginaw County Republican Party will host a Debate Party at Thirsty's inside State Lanes, 5707 State Street, Saginaw. The secondary debate begins at 6:00pm, and the main event at 8:00pm.  Enjoy it with your Republican friends!

The Republican mission seeks to maintain a strong defense, encourage individual achievement and liberty through the free enterprise system, and strengthen families.  If you would like to help us move the area and the country towards these goals, please consider donating to the Saginaw County Republican Committee.  Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help ensure that we can find and elect people to work for those goals.  You can do so by mail to PO BOX 6653, Saginaw, MI  48608 or on the web at newsletter@saginawcountygop.org.
