4th District Republican Breakfast Featuring Nolan Finley
Though usually held in May, this year's 4th District Republican Breakfast will be held on TODAY, October 5th.  The time and place are
7:30am, at Buck's Run Golf Club, 1559 S. Chippewa Road, Mt Pleasant.  The keynote speaker is Nolan Finley.

As always, any funds raised are given to our House and Senate candidates in the General Election. This is one of the 4th District's biggest fundraisers for the year, and with many open seats coming up in 2016 due to term limits, they want to be able to help out our Republican candidates as much as possible to keep the 4th Democrat Free!

Tickets are available at Eventrbrite.  If you do not wish to purchase a ticket through the website but would like to RSVP, please email Sarah Wurtzel Brooks.  Only 150 tickets will be sold, so be sure to get yours soon for the October 5th breakfast!

SVSU College Republicans Meeting

Joan Larsen Newly Appointed Michigan Court Justice
University of Michigan attorney and law professor Joan Larsen was appointed to the Michigan Supreme Court by Governor Rick Snyder on Wednesday.  She will be replacing Justice Mary Beth Kelly, who is resigning to return to private practice.

Before her role at the University of Michigan, Joan Larsen served as a clerk for United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, as well as a Deputy Assistant U.S. Attorney General in the Justice Department under President George W. Bush. Larsen earned her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University's School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude, and also served as an articles editor for the Northwestern University Law Review.

Larsen's appointment provides Michigan's highest court with another strong rule-of-law Justice who will uphold the belief that the law is impartial, and place a focus on facts, not circumstances.

Since 1995, the Citizens for Traditional Values Political Leadership Academy has trained hundreds of Michigan candidates. This dynamic and informative campaign school features some of the best and most conservative state and national experts who know how to run - and win - a campaign. A significant number of PLA attendees have gone on to hold public office including Lt. Governor Brian Calley, Speaker of the House Jase Bolger, Senate Education Committee Chair Phil Pavlov, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Rick Jones, and House Majority Floor Leader Jim Stamas.

We are pleased to announce that the CTV Political Leadership Academy will be held this year on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24. As in previous years, Great Lakes Christian College has graciously offered to host the two day seminar and Citizens for Traditional Values  greatly appreciates partnering with such a well-respected institution. They are also honored to have Matt Robbins, President of American Majority, as the keynote speaker. Matt Robbins has personally trained thousands of political activists coast to coast and in several foreign countries on campaign management, communications and party and candidate development.
