The Saginaw County Republican Party will hold it's County Convention this Thursday, August 14th.  If you were elected a Precinct Delegate in last Tuesday's primary election, please see the details below and attend.

Saginaw County Republican Women's Club Picnic
The Saginaw County Republican Women's Club will hold a "Meet the Candidates" picnic TOMORROW, August 12th.  The event will be from 6:00-9:00pm at the home of Sandra Kahn, 4520 Midland Rd, Saginaw.  Please come meet, mingle and dine with invited judges, Board of Education candidates, legislators, and other county and state candidates.  Friends, family and children are welcome and there is no charge.  There will also be live entertainment and a live auction.

To help with the food and beverage count, please RSVP to Sandra Kahn at 989-790-0285. 

 

Saginaw County Republican Convention

The Saginaw County Republican Party County Convention will be this Thursday, August 14th, 2014.  This Convention is a meeting of the duly elected Precinct Delegates and the At-Large Delegates, and only those delegates will be allowed to vote on matters that come before the Convention.

  

If you are a Precinct Delegate or At-Large Delegate, attending this Convention is one of your obligations, so please attend!  The purpose of the Convention is to elect Delegates and Alternates to the August 23, 2014 State Convention, where candidates for state offices in the November election will be selected.  Candidates to be selected for the November ballot are:

  • Lieutenant Governor
  • Secretary of State
  • Attorney General
  • Three (3) Justices to the Michigan Supreme Court
  • Two (2) members to the Michigan State Board of Education
  • Two (2) members EACH to the Wayne State Board of Governonr, Michigan State University Board of Trustees, and University of Michigan Board of Regents

Precinct Delegates MUST notify the Saginaw County Republican Party Secretary, Sandra Kahn, by midnight, August 13th to receive selection preference under Rule 8 of the Convention Rules.  You can notify Sandra at sandrakahn@charter.net

  • County Commissioner, 1st District - Patrick Wurtzel
  • County Commissioner, 2nd District - Alex Boese
  • County Commissioner, 3rd District - Kirk Kilpatrick
  • County Commissioner, 5th District - Jim Theisen
  • County Commissioner, 6th District - Ron Sholtz
  • County Commissioner, 7th District - Kurt W Kiessling
  • County Commissioner, 8th District - Dennis Krafft
  • Brady Township Trustee - Steven Kienitz
  • Fremont Township Trustee - Christopher L Snyder
  • James Township Parks Commission - Crystal Swanson
