Thank you for another successful Lincoln Day Breakfast, with Attorney General Bill Schuette and Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville last month.
Our next meeting is April 24th at 7:00pm at the Saginaw headquarters, 3071 Bay Rd. Please note that as mentioned below, May 6th is the filing deadline for 2014-2016 Republican Precinct Delegate Candidates. We will have forms and a notary available at the meeting.

Congressman Dave Camp Retiring from Congress
|  Congressman Dave Camp recently announced that he will not run for re-election, thus retiring from the seat he has held since 1991. There are three Republicans running for his seat, all running on conservative platforms. If they all submit the necessary signatures, they will appear on the August 5th primary ballot. First to announce was small business owner Peter Konetchy of Roscommon, who entered the race in July, 2013. The day after Congressman Camp announced his retirement, State Senator John Moolenaar of Midland announced that he would run for the vacant seat. Senator Moolenaar served three terms in the Michigan house, from 2003-2009 and is currently a State Senator first elected in 2010. Saginaw businessman Paul Mitchell was the most recent to announce. The 4th Congressional District contains all or parts of 15 counties, including Clare, Clinton, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Mecosta, Midland, Missaukee, Montcalm, Ogemaw, Osceola, Roscommon, Saginaw, Shiawassee and Wexford. |
Republican Women's Club Annual Dinner / Card Party

 The Saginaw County Republican Women's Club will host its annual dinner / card party on Thursday, May 15th. The event will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 509 Hancock St, Saginaw, at 6:00pm. Items will be available for silent auction as well as raffle. Tickets are $7 per person and will be sold at the door. Or contact Kathy Dwan at 989-326-0342 or Myrna Lehr at 989-274-8886.

Republican Women's Club Meeting Schedule
|  The Saginaw County Republican Women's Club holds its meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Zauel Library, 3100 N. Center Rd, Saginaw. Meetings are at 1:00pm unless otherwise announced. The April 13th meeting will feature guest speaker Barb Russell of the Saginaw Township School Board.
The group also holds a monthly discussion group of the issues on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at member Sandra Kahn's house, 4520 Midland Rd, Saginaw. This group meets at 6:00pm. For more information, contact Kathy Dwan at 989-326-0342.

Precinct Delegate Affidavit Forms Due May 6th
|  If you are interested in becoming a Republican Precinct Delegate for the August 5th election, you need to fill out and file an Affidavit Form. These forms must be signed, notarized, and delivered to the Saginaw County Clerk's office by the ballot deadline date of 4:00pm, May 6th. Please note that due to changes in Michigan law, you can no longer file this form with your city or township clerk. Your Affidavit form can be notarized at the County Clerk's office when you deliver it to them, or, your local bank officer typically has a notary available to its customers. Remember not to sign your form until you have a notary present. If it is difficult for you to go to the County Clerk's office, you can mail your notarized form to: Saginaw County Republican Party, PO Box 6653, Saginaw, MI 48608. We will deliver the Affidavit for you and hold your filing receipt form.
The Saginaw County Republican Party has many open Precinct Delegate seats. Please pass this information on to others who might be interested participants in the Saginaw County Republican Party.
