News & Events
Dear Friends,

It's that time of year to organize our party, and that means committees.  Please volunteer to work on a committee so we can be successful in our events, fundraising, and ultimately in elections.  We need people to serve on the following committees:
  • events,
  • Saginaw Fair,
  • membership,
  • candidate selection,
  • finance,
  • any special projects you can think of.

If you can work on any of these, please e-mail Brian Frey.  Thank you.

Speaking of committees, a new Republican group for students of Delta Community College is being organized.  If you are interested in joining, or know anyone who is, please e-mail Jordan Haskins, who is coordinating the group.

Congressional Scorecard Debuts
Americans for Prosperity
Americans For Prosperity has released their scoring of how the 112th Congress votes.  In this edition, they tallied the most critical votes of the 112th Congress: repealing President Obama's job-killing health care law, disapproving of EPA's overreach to regulate greenhouse gases, supporting Chairman Paul Ryan's budget, stopping "green" ethanol subsidies, and many others.  Keep up with your Congressman at the AFP Scorecard.

With so many anti-free market policies coming out of Washington, it is more important than ever to watch how our lawmakers are voting. You didn't send them to Congress to hike your taxes and restrict your economic freedom. Elected officials must be held accountable and now you can see their votes easier than ever.

How the 2012 Vote Went Down
Saginaw County

The Saginaw County Clerk's office has a comprehensive list of 2012 election results.  If you want to see your precinct, or are curious about anywhere else in Saginaw County, go look over the numbers.  You may discover something important that others have overlooked.  And, if you're curious about other counties, the Michigan Secretary of State has those.

Victims of Government
Uncle Sam
Congressional hearings often feature victims of some sort detailing their woes, trying to convince Congress to pass yet another law.  Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) turns that idea on its head by offering stories of victims of the government itself.  His new web page will give stories of laws and rules that have had real, negative impacts on individuals' lives.  His first story is up at Victims of Government.

The Republican mission seeks to maintain a strong defense, encourage individual achievement and liberty through the free enterprise system, and strengthen families.  If you would like to help us move the area and the country towards these goals, please consider donating to the Saginaw County Republican Committee.  Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help ensure that we can find and elect people to work for those goals.  You can do so by mail to PO BOX 6653, Saginaw, MI  48608 or on the web at www.saginawcountygop.com.

Sincerely,
Brian Frey, Chair, Saginaw County Republican Party
