WINES BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION

Young grape

Greetings!

We've got something crisp to cool you off on the dock & something well rounded with a long finish for those summer BBQ nights. Let us revisit our islander friends from the south... the far away south. The Kiwi's have nailed their unmistakable uniqueness in their Sauvignon blanc as much as the Aussies' have with their Shiraz. Their characteristics are unmistakable from that of any other wine growing region, and we love authenticity!

This summer season we raise a glass to them and put their greatest winemaking contributions in the spot light. Stock up your fridge & your cellar with these two winners. A crisp New Zealand style Sauvignon blanc is the perfect mouth and crowd pleaser for any upcoming summer occasion- lunch on the dock, steamy summer nights, cocktail hour, seafood inspirations or just on its own but shared with friends and family.

And what better date this summer for our New Zealand star than an Australian style Shiraz. A perfect balance of spice and fruit, a touch of smokiness and earthy depth. Whether you're the host or being hosted this dynamic duo is sure to turn all palates in the room as they search for another sip...and another and another.

The VDG website is going in for a facelift this summer and we are excited for our new look! We'll keep you posted when we are ready to bare all and introduce our new site, but for the meantime make sure you follow us on Facebook & twitter  for the latest updates and all the action in the cellar. Visit our google+  page to share with us your VDG experience, suggestions and photos.... We love to hear from you!

It's going to be a great summer!

Cheers!

Alejandro & the VDG team

Sauvignon Blanc: The Kiwi Way

Sauvignon blanc is said to get its name from the French words sauvage ("wild") and blanc ("white") due to its early origins as an indigenous grape in South West France. Sauvignon blanc is planted in many of the world's wine regions, producing a crisp, dry, and refreshing white varietal wine.

New Zealand Sauvignon blanc is famed for its pungently aromatic green pepper, gooseberry & lush passionfruit characters. A very crisp and refreshing white wine, pale yellow in colour, a well balanced acidity, and lingering hints of citrus in its finish. Our techniques of cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks combined with carefully selected yeast strands have added another great wine to the VDG cellar.

If you love a crisp summer white wine as much as we do, mention our "Dynamic Duo Special" next time you're at VDG  and receive a 10% discount on your order. Perfect white to accompany you on the upcoming FIFA World Cup! (Valid June 5- July 13).

Aussie Shiraz

For several years we have been offering our Chilean Syrah at VDG, and last year we added a new Shiraz inspired by the winemaking styles of our Aussie vintners.

In our Australian Shiraz you will find bright fruit flavours including blueberries, black currants and black cherries. A versatile wine that can remain unoaked to fully enjoy it's fruit accents, or slightly oaked for added complexity and tannins.

Add this winner to your wine list this summer and have it on hand for any occasion. It will deliver enough body to escort anything on the grill, while offering enough fruit to accompany some fine cheeses or a hearty summer salad.

Get on this quick in order to be fully stocked for the upcoming months. Remember the "Dynamic Duo Special" when ordering to receive a 10% discount. (Valid June 5-July 13)
