October 9, 2015
From costumed skate nights to spooky page-turners, you'll find plenty of ways to celebrate autumn in Allen! Check out some of these haunted highlights from our Community Calendar.
The City of Allen doesn't have a designated night for trick-or-treating. If your neighborhood has an HOA, check with them to find out when candy-collecting will happen on your street.
Considering a new pet? Start your search at Allen Animal Shelter!
If you're thinking about adding a furry member to your family, this is the perfect time to check out the pets at Allen Animal Shelter. October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month. You'll find pets of all ages, sizes and breeds at Allen Animal Shelter. Browse the shelter's Pet Finder page before you visit to see who's available for adoption this week.

The adoption fee is $95 and includes vaccination, sterilization and a microchip. Visit the shelter website or Facebook page to learn more!
Show Up. Speak Up. Shape Allen.
Nearly a hundred Allen residents have joined forces to help plan the city's next big projects - and there's still time for you to join them! Groups are in the midst of exploring various investments in parks and recreation, public facilities, streets and drainage, and public safety for the city's next Capital Improvement Program. Their recommendations will be presented to City Council for a future bond election.

Want to join the conversation? Visit CityofAllen.org/AllenBond2016 for a list of meeting times and locations. If you missed previous meetings, we've posted links to every presentation under each group's tab. Don't miss your chance to show up, speak up and shape Allen this fall!
