Ready or not, school starts on Monday! With school buses returning to the road, there's no better time for a refresher course in school bus safety. According to Texas statute, drivers traveling in either direction must stop when approaching a stopped bus.

This seems simple on two-way streets. But what about divided roads? To help drivers understand the law, the City of Allen has created a visual aid to illustrate when drivers should stop. Feel free to share the link on Facebook or Twitter as a reminder to others.
Drivers who violate the law could face fines up to $1,250!

Remember, Texas law also prohibits use of cell phones or other hand-held devices in school zones. Fines range from $200 to $500. No call is worth putting children at risk.
