Help Allen Communtiy Outreach Restock the Shelves

Summer is taking its toll on ACO's food pantry. According to the organization's Facebook page, two kids had to be turned away this week because the pantry ran out of food. You can help restock the shelves by donating any food item, especially those on ACO's Healthy Food shopping list.

You can drop off donations at the Allen Community Outreach food pantry (801 E. Main Street) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The food pantry will also accept donations from 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Check Out the New Look at Hillside Park!

After a complete demolition, renovations at Hillside Park are complete! Visitors will enjoy a much larger playground with two bays of swings. You'll also find separate play equipment for younger and older kids...including a Hot Wheels track for the Pre-K crowd. Grown-ups can relax at new benches and tables while keeping an eye on kiddos. Visit 711 Rolling Ridge to check it out!

Funding for the improvements was provided by the Allen Community Development Corporation. You can find a list of other parks projects at CityofAllen.org.
