Beware of a Potential Roofing Scam! |
 |
Have you received a strange call from the City of Allen recently? We're spreading the word about a potential scam. Several residents have gotten a sales call from someone offering roof inspections in which the caller ID lists the City of Allen. However, the City of Allen does not endorse third party service providers or provide access to or share customer information.
Please take precaution to ensure that services offered are performed by a licensed, professional contractor and be on the alert for contractors that request a cash deposit to secure materials for home improvement work. You can also sign up for alerts from the Allen Police Department to stay notified of any potential scams.

Fire Station #2 Reconstruction Timeline Set |
 |
Fire Station #2 is about to get a huge upgrade! The facility off Exchange Parkway and Allen Heights Drive will begin reconstruction by the end of September. Council members approved the bid from Crossland Construction during the city council meeting on June 23.
Fire Station #2 is the oldest operating fire station in Allen. Its age has created several challenges. Not only does the building not accommodate new fire equipment clearances, it also lacks separate facilities for women. The new station will correct those issues and give firefighters a third equipment bay. During construction, Fire Station #2 operations will move to temporary facilities next door. Response times will not be affected. The new station is scheduled to open in November 2016. |
