Allen's biggest party of the year is almost here! Market Street Allen USA is tomorrow, June 27. See below for all the things you need to know before you go!
  1. When is it? The Market Street Allen USA Celebration is this Saturday, June 27 at Celebration Park. The excitement will kick off at 4 p.m. and the firework finale will commence at 10:05 p.m.
  2. How do I get there? Shuttle service begins at 3:30 p.m. at Allen High School with return shuttles available throughout the day and evening (buses will not run from 9:30 p.m. until the end of the fireworks show). We have ten additional buses this year thanks to Go Taps, which will make it even easier to get back to your car.
  3. How much does it cost? Market Street Allen USA is always FREE and open to the public! Kids will need tickets or wristbands to participate in some activities. Tickets are 2 for $1 and all-inclusive wristbands are $25.
  4. What if it rains? Market Street Allen USA Celebration is a "rain or shine" event but if inclement weather necessitates, all band performances will be moved indoors to Allen Event Center. Check local weather forecasts before heading to the event. In case of inclement weather, please check AllenUSA.org or AllenParks.org for any updates to scheduled activities.
  5. What can I bring? Lawn chairs and coolers that can rest in your lap if taking the shuttle are permitted and are subject to being searched. NO alcohol will be allowed onsite. Due to expected high temperatures, crowds and noise of the fireworks, we encourage pet owners to leave their furry friends at home.

Beware of a Potential Roofing Scam!
Have you received a strange call from the City of Allen recently? We're spreading the word about a potential scam. Several residents have gotten a sales call from someone offering roof inspections in which the caller ID lists the City of Allen. However, the City of Allen does not endorse third party service providers or provide access to or share customer information.

Please take precaution to ensure that services offered are performed by a licensed, professional contractor and be on the alert for contractors that request a cash deposit to secure materials for home improvement work. You can also sign up for alerts from the Allen Police Department to stay notified of any potential scams.

Fire Station #2 Reconstruction Timeline Set
Fire Station #2 is about to get a huge upgrade! The facility off Exchange Parkway and Allen Heights Drive will begin reconstruction by the end of September. Council members approved the bid from Crossland Construction during the city council meeting on June 23.

Fire Station #2 is the oldest operating fire station in Allen. Its age has created several challenges. Not only does the building not accommodate new fire equipment clearances, it also lacks separate facilities for women.

The new station will correct those issues and give firefighters a third equipment bay. During construction, Fire Station #2 operations will move to temporary facilities next door. Response times will not be affected. The new station is scheduled to open in November 2016.
