Celebrate nature, health and community tomorrow at Earthfest! Walk along nature trails, hunt for wild flower eggs, enjoy live music and indulge in free food tasting at a new location, Dayspring Nature Preserve. Volunteers can also participate in a community creek cleanup.

 

Visitors are encouraged to park at Green Elementary and Boon Elementary. Go TAPS will provide complimentary shuttle service from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pickup/dropoff locations will be marked with signs.

 

Earthfest is sponsored by the City of Allen and Keep Allen Beautiful. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at Dayspring Nature Preserve (622 Rainforest Lane, Allen, TX 75013). Creek cleanup volunteers should meet at the Eco-Lab Trail behind Boon Elementary at 8:45 a.m.

Don't Forget to Register to Vote!

Don't forget: the last day to register to vote in the May general and special elections is Thursday, April 9. Visit the Collin County Elections website to find out if you're registered or fill out the voter registration form. Not sure where to go on election day? The website will also help you find a polling place and explain what to bring with you when you vote.

 

Allen voters can find information on the general election for city council, proposed charter amendments,and the bond election to revoke $16,685,000 in general obligation bonds initially approved for the Arts Center of North Texas that will appear on the May ballot at CityofAllen.org/ElectionNotices. Early voting begins on April 27 and ends on May 5.  Election day is May 9.

Reminder about Easter Sunday Hours

Some City of Allen facilities will be closed on Sunday, April 5. These facilities include:

  • Allen Public Library
  • Allen Senior Recreation Center
  • Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium
  • Joe Farmer Recreation Center
  • The Edge Visitor Center

The Edge Skate Park will remain open. Facilities will return to normal operating hours on Monday, April 6.
