Are You Ready for Severe Weather? |
 |
Do storms thrill you? Or do they terrify you? Regardless of your answer, you're invited to attend the Storm Spotter Training Program offered by the National Weather Service. The class will help both official storm spotters and ordinary citizens prepare for the 2015 severe weather season.
The Storm Spotter Training Program is part of a regional severe weather preparedness campaign, including spotter training sessions in 46 Texas counties. The 2015 program will discuss thunderstorm formation, ingredients and features associated with severe and non-severe storms. The class is held in partnership with Collin County Amateur Radio Emergency Service, Collin County Emergency Management, and KTVT-CBS 11.
The class will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 at Collin College in Frisco. The class is free and no preregistration is necessary. Read more about the program on CityOfAllen.org. |
