Wondering what to do with your freshly-cut Christmas tree once the holidays are over? Here's your answer! Community Waste Disposal (CWD) will collect clean, natural Christmas trees from your usual collection point beginning Friday, Dec. 26. Trees will be picked up on your assigned trash day. The final day for tree collection is Wednesday, Jan. 7.
Because the trees will be composted, residents must remove tree stands and all decorations, including tinsel. Flocked trees will not be collected and must be taken to the Custer Road Transfer Station. Trees taller than six feet in height must be cut into two sections. Remember to place trees at least two feet from all obstacles, including trash and recycling carts.
Residents may also use the City's do-it-yourself disposal option. Clean, natural trees may be taken to the Texas Pure Products Wood Grinding Facility at the Custer Road Transfer Station (9901 Custer Road). Residents must present current water bill and driver's license. Addresses on both documents must match. For more information on either tree disposal option, visit CityOfAllen.org/HolidayTrash.
