All ages will enjoy this year's Happy Fall Fest hosted by the Allen Senior Recreation Center this Saturday. There will be a classic car show hosted by the Morning Maniacs Car Club as well as a craft and specialty gift market with over 70 vendors. Yummy fair concessions, outdoor kids' activities and hay rides make this the perfect multi-generational event! The Allen Heritage Guild will offer tours of the historic St. Mary Church. The entire event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you get to the Allen Senior Recreation Center early, you can join in the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. for just $3. Happy Fall!

Allen 9-1-1:  A Voice for Those In Need
On the 13th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, first responders and 9-1-1 call takers were recognized nationwide for their efforts in helping people in need.

The City of Allen also wishes to honor those who serve our community in responding to emergencies, especially those who you may only know as "a voice for those in need".

Allen Animal Shelter Adoption Event - Petsmart
In recognition of National Pet Adoption Week, join the Allen Animal Shelter this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Petsmart in The Village at Allen and adopt your next furry friend. There will be plenty of pets ready for adoption at this event, like Stryker pictured on the left. The Shelter is even offering half-price adoption fees.

A list of current animals available for adoption can also be found on PetFinder. You can also see dogs and cats up for adoption by liking the Shelter's Facebook page
