Pack your picnic dinner and join the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus as they present the ninth annual Memorial Day Patriotic Pops Concert. This free concert begins at 7 p.m. on Memorial Day in the Joe Farmer Recreation Center amphitheater,1201 E. Bethany Drive. Musical favorites include the Armed Forces Salute, Sousa marches, and selections by John Williams. There will also be fun activities just for kids! The evening will conclude with fireworks and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

Summer Sounds Concert Series Promises Good Music and Great Fun
It's beginning to feel like summer - school is almost out and the temperatures are rising. Soon, it's going to be sounding like summer, too! The 17th annual Summer Sounds concert series kicks off with the Memorial Day concert and keeps on rockin' every Monday at 7 p.m. through June 23 in the Joe Farmer Recreation Center amphitheater. This year's concert series features a variety of different performers from pop to party to blues and funk. Thanks to the City of Allen and the Parks and Recreation Department, all Summer Sounds concerts are free with light concessions available for purchase.

You're Invited to Join the Allen City Council for a Reception
Please join the Allen City Council for a Reception on Tuesday, May 27 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at Allen City Hall, 305 Century Parkway. A special ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. recognizing re-elected Mayor Steve Terrell and Councilmember Ross Obermeyer.

Trash Service
CWD trash service will slide one day due to the Memorial Day holiday. Trash routes normally collected on Monday move to Tuesday and each day's collection moves a day with Friday collection on Saturday.

Reminder - Seasonal Watering Restrictions Extended Through May 31
Customers may use sprinklers or irrigation systems once every two weeks for landscape/lawn watering. Customers must use the Stage 3 Outdoor Watering Schedule Map and the Watering Week Schedule Calendar to identify what day watering is permitted for their neighborhood. Learn More...

Rowlett Creek Trail Closure Due to US 75 Construction

Please take note that the US 75 Trail Underpass at Rowlett Creek will be closed beginning May 29, for the US 75 widening project. Keep an eye out for signs along the trail. 

City of Allen Community Calendar Highlights

Allen's Community Theatre presents the popular musical Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine. This delightful tale follows a baker and his wife as they journey into the woods in search of a cow, a red cape, a pair of golden slippers and some magic beans. The show runs various days/times through June 8.
