It's time for Allen's Great American Cleanup! This Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be two locations to bring your items for collection. To drop off trash, brush, white metal appliances and cardboard, head to the new location this year just north of Allen Premium Outlets to the intersection of Chelsea Boulevard and Allen Commerce Parkway. The collection site for donation, electronics and metal recycling, and paper shredding opportunities will be in the Allen City Hall parking lot, 305 Century Parkway.

The event is once again hosted by the City of Allen Community Services Department, Keep Allen Beautiful (KAB) and Community Waste Disposal (CWD), and volunteers will be on hand to assist with vehicle unloading.

Allen residents are asked to bring a current City of Allen water utility bill and driver's license in order to take advantage of this great cleanup, reuse and recycling opportunity. This event is for residential customers only. No box trucks or commercial quantities of recycling, electronics or shredding will be accepted. For a complete list of items being collected, please visit KeepAllenBeautiful.com.

Seasonal Watering Schedule Extended Through May 31
At the request of North Texas Municipal Water District, Stage 3 Seasonal Watering Restrictions will be extended through May 31 due to low lake levels and as we continue a 10% Reduction Goal for this stage. Customers may use sprinklers or irrigation systems once every two weeks for landscape/lawn watering. Customers must use the Stage 3 Outdoor Watering Schedule Map and the Watering Week Schedule Calendar to identify what day watering is permitted for their neighborhood.

It's National Tourism Week and Allen's CVB is Celebrating How Our Visitors Have Grown!
In recognition of National Tourism week, the Allen Convention & Visitors Bureau wants to spread the word that conventions, sporting events and regional and international traffic to Allen's shopping centers account for a $122 million impact in the local economy annually. Just in the past year, groups such as WorldVentures, Cheer America and National Collegiate Wrestling Association have hosted events at Allen Event Center. On the near horizon be on the lookout for visitors here for the Amateur Softball Association and the Texas Court Clerks Association conventions.

Make sure to check out their Facebook page for special information about the various hidden gems of Allen!
