Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS) awarded Allen resident Jim Waldbauer with the Outstanding Individual Service Award for 2014. Waldbauer, who was nominated by Parks and Recreation and recently recognized by Allen City Council, has been an active citizen volunteer for over 20 years. He has served on the Parks and Recreation Board and was instrumental in the establishment of the Allen Parks Foundation. His dedication and service to the community has contributed greatly to the success of Allen's Parks and Recreation Department.
TRAPS also recognized the Parks and Recreation Department and Allen City Television for the Media Excellence Award for the "Play Music Video & Rec X Television Series".

It's Fix-A-Leak Week - Leaks Can Run, but They Can't Hide!

 According to WaterSense, household leaks can waste more than 1 trillion gallons of water annually nationwide. It's time to chase down down those drips during Fix-A-Leak Week, March 17 - 23. Race over to your plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems, fix the leaks, and save valuable water and money. Check out their map of events to see what is going on near you! The public is also invited to attend an open meeting to discuss Changes to the Water Conservation and Drought Contingency and Water Emergency Response Plan. The meeting will be held Monday, March 17 at at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room, 301 Century Parkway.
