You will have a full week to recover from your Thanksgiving turkey to make sure you are able to join in the our favorite hometown traditions weekend! Starting Friday, Dec. 6, it's the annual lighting of the 35-foot Christmas tree at Allen Civic Plaza with an evening full of fun, activities and over 20,000 twinkling lights. The weekend continues with the Rudolph Run the next morning, Saturday, Dec. 7, in downtown Allen where you can also make a stop at First Baptist Church to eat a hearty breakfast while the kids visit with Santa at the Kiwanis Annual Pancake Breakfast. The downtown fun wraps up Sunday, Dec. 8 with the Rotary Christmas parade you won't want to miss. This year, Mayor Stephen Terrell, Past Mayors of Allen and Allen City Council will serve as Grand Marshall to celebrate "Christmas Through the Decades".

Be sure to check www.CityOfAllen.org/EventCalendar to find out about all the great activities and events coming in Allen up this season.

Reminder - In Cases of Severe Weather
During periods of severe weather, please be sure to call and check facility hours prior to heading out. Severe weather notices for facilities, services and storm response operations will be posted on ACTV and the City's home page at CityOfAllen.org as quickly as possible once determinations are made. As time and staffing allows, every effort will be made to post facility hours/closures and program cancellations on individual facility web pages.
