We've been telling you about all of the great changes at The Courses at Watters Creek and now
Allen residents are cordially invited to a special ceremony Saturday morning to commemorate the opening of all 33 unique holes! Join us for a special panel of speakers beginning at 9 a.m. followed by a ribbon cutting overlooking the 18th green. And to show our appreciation, specials and discounts will be offered in the pro shop and Grill 33 all day Saturday.

Whether you're a beginner to the game of golf or feel the need to work on your short game, The Courses at Watters Creek has exactly what you need with three courses and 33 unique holes. The Futures 6-hole Short Course for example is open daily until 11 p.m. and offers great play under the lights. The holes range in distance from 40 - 120 yards and are suited for all levels of play. You can even play free tomorrow during the grand opening with a junior golfer (age 12 and under)!

Something for Everyone - A Busy Weekend in Allen!

Don't worry if golf isn't your thing yet, there are plenty of other ways to have fun this Saturday in Allen.

The Allen Senior Recreation Center is hosting its annual Happy Fall Fest full of crafts, gifts, classic cars and even a tour of Allen Heritage Village across the street.

You and your pooch are welcome at Dog Days at Ford Pool tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Have a swim with your furry buddy for just $5/dog and remember to bring current shot records. Allen Animal Shelter employees will be on hand to help you get your pet registered with the City if needed.

Do you have a young BMXer who wants to be extreme at The Edge Skate Park? Then head over to the BMX Rodeo from Noon to 2 p.m. designed just for the younger rider (ages 8 - 14). There will be tips on bike maintenance, safety, park etiquette and beginner tricks.
Allen Library dot org Folk Festival
The Allen Public Library will get your feet tapping and your heart singing with the 3rd Annual Allen Folk Festival at the Civic Auditorium. The program features 3 Penny Acre who will bring the best of folk and roots music from the Ozarks. Local residents Kevin Vaught, Michael Carroll and Dennis Brown will open the show with some great selections of early Texas folk music. The concert is free and starts at 7:30 p.m.
 
And if you just want a grown-up night out, Saturday Night Rec N Roll gets underway this Saturday night. This fun, safe, drop-off program is available twice a month for students in grades 3-6. Nightly activities include gym games, dance music provided by a DJ, bounce houses, dodge ball, theme nights and even contests with prize give-a-ways. Supervision is provided and concessions are available.

Allen Animal Shelter Launches Facebook Page
City of Allen Animal ShelterYou can now follow the Allen Animal Shelter on Facebook. It's a great way to stay connected, receive shelter news and information, and be a part of finding homes for the adoptable pets in Allen. In addition to helping at Dog Days at Ford Pool this Saturday, the Allen Animal Shelter will be hosting a dog adoption event at Cabela's.

Don't forget - the shelter takes donated items and is currently in need of dog leashes and cat toys!
