Don't worry if golf isn't your thing yet, there are
plenty of other ways to have fun this Saturday in Allen.
The
Allen Senior Recreation Center is hosting its annual
Happy Fall Fest full of crafts, gifts, classic cars and even a tour of
Allen Heritage Village across the street.
You and your pooch are welcome at
Dog Days at Ford Pool tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Have a swim with your furry buddy for just $5/dog and remember to bring current shot records.
Allen Animal Shelter employees will be on hand to help you get your pet registered with the City if needed.
Do you have a young BMXer who wants to be extreme at
The Edge Skate Park? Then head over to the
BMX Rodeo from Noon to 2 p.m. designed just for the younger rider (ages 8 - 14). There will be tips on bike maintenance, safety, park etiquette and beginner tricks.

The
Allen Public Library will get your feet tapping and your heart singing with the 3rd Annual
Allen Folk Festival at the Civic Auditorium. The program features 3 Penny Acre who will bring the best of folk and roots music from the Ozarks. Local residents Kevin Vaught, Michael Carroll and Dennis Brown will open the show with some great selections of early Texas folk music. The concert is free and starts at 7:30 p.m.
And if you just want a grown-up night out,
Saturday Night Rec N Roll gets underway this Saturday night. This fun, safe, drop-off program is available twice a month for students in grades 3-6. Nightly activities include gym games, dance music provided by a DJ, bounce houses, dodge ball, theme nights and even contests with prize give-a-ways. Supervision is provided and concessions are available.
