The City of Allen's Parks and Recreation Department has been named one of four finalists for the National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management for their population category.

The American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA) in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Gold Medal Awards program honors communities in the U.S. that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program and professional development. The winner will be announced in October.

Market Street Allen USA Main Stage Entertainment Will Keep You Rocking

This year's headliner at Market Street Allen USA is Dennis DeYoung, a founding member of the band STYX! DeYoung was the lead singer and writer on seven of the band's eight Top Ten Hits.

The Emerald City Band will warm up the stage with motion, movement and energy to get you moving with a combination of high energy dance songs from the past with the hits of today.

And kids won't want to miss the interactive Radio Disney LIVE! Q & A session with Dylan Riley Snyder, one of the most popular Disney Channel stars.

Free shuttle service will be available from Allen High School to Celebration Park beginning at 3:30 p.m. Extra buses have been added this year to help attendees park hassle free and enjoy an air conditioned ride to and from Market Street AllenUSA.

Allen Municipal Court Fines Can Now Be Paid Online

Allen Municipal Court now offers online payment for citations through a third party vendor. By paying the ticket online, a no contest (Nolo Contendre) plea is entered and rights to a jury trial are waived. The violation will be recorded as a conviction and reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety if traffic/driving related. There is a 3% processing fee added to the total amount when a fine is paid with a credit card. Visit CityOfAllen.org/PayCourtFine.
