Outdoor Warning Sirens & Severe Weather Reminders

 As we enter the heightened storm season, the Allen Fire Department wants to remind everyone about the City's outdoor warning siren system. There are 13 sirens placed strategically throughout the city to alert citizens outdoors of imminent severe weather. The ability to hear the sirens indoors can be hindered depending upon proximity to a siren, wind direction, and surrounding noise. Always check local media outlets and have your NOAA National Weather Service radio nearby.
In cases of severe weather, residents are reminded to pay close attention to any weather alerts and take shelter if necessary. The city does not have designated storm shelters for public use - residents are advised to seek shelter in an internal room of your home or business, on the lowest level and away from windows.
