Allen Arts Alliance Fine Arts Festival
This weekend, the Allen Arts Alliance, in partnership with Watters Creek at Montgomery Farms, features the 5th annual Fine Arts Festival! Running Friday, Saturday and Sunday, this juried art festival features selections of outstanding fine arts along with children's interactive art activities and live artistic performances. Highlights include tented artists booths all along the Village Green showcasing a variety of styles and mediums, including painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, glass, clay, and much more. There will also be live music from local bands as well as the Allen High School Encore Jazz Band.

The Allen Police Department has launched the AllenPD Tips app for Android and iPhone enabling the public to send anonymous tips. This app also lets the police respond back, creating a two way anonymous "chat." Developed by CitizenObserver, AllenPD Tips is a powerful new crime fighting tool for our community. Search for the AllenPD Tips app in the Google Play store or iTunes App store. Citizens can still send an anonymous tip by texting the word ALLENPD and their tip to 847411. As always, your tips are 100% anonymous!
Meet PGA Tour Star Matt Kuchar at The Courses at Watters Creek

Matt is in town for both the Byron Nelson and Colonial tournaments but will spend the afternoon in Allen at a series of free clinics led by Chris O'Connell, Director of Instruction at The Courses at Watters Creek and one of Golf Magazine's Top 100 Teachers. Events include a special clinic just for kids, an exhibition on how Matt prepares his game, and even a chance to hit with Bridgestone clubs using the same specs Matt uses to win on tour. New Office Building to Help Ease Shortage of Space by Next Summer
The Allen Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) and Sentinel Capital, LLC recently announced the planned development of AllenPlace, a new office complex on North Central Expressway (located east of US-75 between Bethany Drive and McDermott Drive) that will add almost half a million square feet of space to the Allen market. Phase I of AllenPlace will include four multi-story buildings and is scheduled for completion by the summer of 2014.
