Want to know how to maintain your lawn using less water and resources? Then make plans to attend Saturday's seminar led by Gail Donaldson, Water Conservation Manager for the City of Allen and a turf and irrigation specialist. Participants will learn how to care for their lawns like an expert with subjects ranging from basic lawn care, common turf problems, how to water most efficiently and much more. The seminar begins at 10 a.m. in the Community Room of the Municipal Court and Parks and Recreation Building, 301 Century Parkway. Cost is $5, payable at the door. Light refreshments and a water conservation gift will be provided.

TxDOT Hosts Public Hearing for US75 Expansion through Allen

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, March 19, to present proposed improvements to a seven-mile section of US Highway 75. The public hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at the Allen Senior Recreation Center, 451 E. St. Mary. The proposed section for improvement runs from approximately 1,500 feet south of the Spring Creek Parkway interchange to approximately 500 feet south of the SH 121 interchange. Learn More...

Allen CDC Board Holds Annual Town Hall Meeting

The Allen Type B Community Development Corporation (CDC) Board seeks input from Allen residents on how to spend the proceeds from the CDC's half-cent sales tax. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18, in the Allen City Hall Council Chambers, 305 Century Parkway. For more information about the meeting, view the online agenda or call 214.509.4110.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Make Note of These Overnight Closures on US75

March 17 (Sunday) 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. - overnight: NB US75 to SRT direct connect ramps will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via Exit 38B.
March 18 (Monday) 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. - overnight: NB SRT to SB US75 direct connect ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via the adjacent frontage road exit.
March 19 (Tuesday) 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. - overnight: SB US75 to SB SRT direct connect ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via Exit 39.
