National Collegiate Wrestling Championships and Convention in Allen

 Starting next week, the National Collegiate Wrestling Championships and Convention will be held at Allen Event Center. Close to 600 male and female athletes who competed across the country last month for a spot in these championships will come to Allen for their shot at the top title. This national tournament attracts some of the best college athletes in the country from over 160 major universities like Iowa State, Harvard and the University of Georgia to smaller colleges like Marion Military, William & Mary and Vanderbilt. Tickets are still available for the championship matches. |

| Animal Shelter Recruits Adult and Youth Volunteers |

 The Allen Animal Shelter welcomes adult and youth volunteers who want to help in the day-to-day care of the animals. To maintain the safety of the animals and youth volunteers, new requirements for youth volunteers went into effect this month.
Juvenile volunteer applications will be available beginning at 10 a.m. on March 16 with the juvenile/parent class held on March 28. The adult volunteer class on March 21. Learn More...
