Synod PW News!
FROM THE MODERATOR!
 
I used to think that summer was for leisure time. I used to think when the children grew up, I would have more time for myself and do nothing in particular. As I have grown older, I have realized how mistaken I was. My time is filled with all sorts of things that I love to do, but I would not call it leisure time. I have been very busy with family, friends and PW. (and I consider PW as family and friends!) The Churchwide Gathering was wonderful and you will hear more about it in this newsletter and in the months to come. Several people compared it to a great big family reunion - and it was! It's hard to describe what it is like to be with 1700+ women; the support, the joy, the learning, the sharing, meeting new people and embracing those you have not seen for a while. We had our serious moments and we had rollicking good fun, too! I tried very hard to schedule some "down" time during the Gathering, in order to have a more leisurely time while I was in Minneapolis. Well, it didn't happen there, either! And I am so glad of it! Trying to being a good Christian can be hard but it is so much easier when you are surrounded by those who are also trying to spread God's love and follow Jesus' teachings. If you could not make it to Minneapolis, please mark your calendars for June 10-11, 2016 and join us for the PW/SoC Gathering in Tecumseh, Michigan. Come see for yourself what it is all about!
