Rev. Zaki reported that the Synod Executives Forum will convene by the end of the month to start a collaborative response with Synods and Presbyteries. The General Assembly voted to reduce the 16 Synods to 10-12 Synods in number.

Synod Assembly Meeting

August 8-9, 2014

'I wish everyone in all our presbyteries would have been at the Synod Assembly meeting this past Friday afternoon to hear what each of our presbyteries are doing in ministry for the Lord. I also wish that all the commissioners serving on the Mid-Council committee at the General Assembly were attending our Synod meeting as well. Maybe, just maybe, they would not have proposed to the G.A. to reduced the number of Synods. Maybe they would have proposed to the Church that we take a complete new look at all the synods and presbyteries as to how we can best help our congregations in their ministries. Thanks to our presbytery moderators and vice moderators who came and share with the Synod Assembly your labors of love in Christ Jesus.'

We all can be very proud to be the Synod of the Covenant
.
