Clemency for Arthur Tyler

Arthur Tyler will be executed on May 28, 2014 unless the Governor intervenes.

The co-defendant in this case, Leroy Head, confessed no less than eleven times that he killed the victim, Sander Leach.

Today Leroy Head is a free man while Mr. Tyler awaits the death penalty.

The clemency phase is Mr. Tyler's last chance to receive a fair sentence. In a case so riddled with doubt and inconsistencies, the Governor would be more than justified to ensure the integrity of our criminal justice system by commuting Mr. Tyler's sentence.

Write Governor Kasich today and urge him to grant clemency for Arthur Tyler.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) would like to offer you an opportunity to nominate individuals or congregations who will be recognized during the awards portion of the GA event they are planning. The Presbyterian Health, Education and Welfare Association (PHEWA) is seeking nominations for five ministry awards for those engaged in the remarkable work being done across the denomination with those that often find themselves marginalized or forgotten.

221st General Assembly (2014)  JUNE 14 - 21, 2014

DETROIT, MI

The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) meets biennially in even-numbered years. It consists of commissioners elected by each of its 173 presbyteries. The GA is full of activities: business sessions, committee meetings, an exhibit hall, daily worship services, and mission tours sponsored by the  Committee on Local Arrangements.

The assembly acts on hundreds of items of business, which it receives through the reports and recommendations of various assembly entities, and through overtures from synods and presbyteries.

The 221st General Assembly (2014) will be held in Detroit, Michigan -  June 14 - 21.

Synod of the Covenant Mission to the U.S.A. -OCTOBER 11, 2014 - NOVEMBER 8, 2014

(Contact Doris Evans - D.Evans@synodofthecovenant.org)

What is Mission to the USA?
The Mission to the U.S.A. Program of the Synod of the Covenant is a short-term opportunity for churches to be on the receiving end of
hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Individual congregations host a Christian leader from an ecumenical partner denomination for five
weeks. The "mission partner" becomes a missionary to that congregation, serving on the staff as a parish associate.

Give a Greater Gift this Mothers' Day

Be a part of something bigger through the CWS Blankets Program. This is your chance to help and your chance to show you care!

Last year alone over 4500 blankets were distributed all across the United States to respond to the wildfires, flooding, and hurricanes as well as to those who are economically disadvantaged.

Your congregation or group can send a powerful message to people in these tragic situations: "You matter to us."

We know more disasters are sure to come, so let's work together to put faith in action and show those who need it most that we do care and we are here to help!

Plan your Blanket Sunday offering now for Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day, or any day! Order your Blankets resources today. Contact Andrew Gifford at the CWS Ohio Regional Office: 614-481-4416 or agifford@cwsglobal.org. Find out more at cwsglobal.org/blankets.
