JUST RUN Update

Our quality, effective and fun youth fitness program JUST RUN continues to attract schools and leaders from across the country.  Approximately 15,000 children, representing 15 states, are participating this school year.  According to Susan Love, program director, "JUST RUN was initially designed to combat childhood obesity, which unfortunately is still on the rise.  However, the benefits of aerobic activity on classroom learning and behavior are surfacing and are becoming equally compelling reasons for participation."

This April, more than 3,600 children, their parents and teachers will be taking part in the JUST RUN! Just Kids 3K race along the Monterey Bay coastline in Pacific Grove.  In addition to serving as a goal race for the program, the annual "Schools' Competition" provides prize money to county schools based on participation.  Schools taking part in the JUST RUN program are eligible to receive higher monetary awards.

JUST RUN is a year-round program, available free of charge to all schools in any locale.  For more information on how to promote healthy lifestyles in your community through JUST RUN, contact Susan at susan@bsim.org  or explore the website www.justrun.org.  Be sure to LIKE us on Facebook as well!
