Big Sur's Mud Run

Greetings!

Welcome to the 2013 edition of Big Sur's Mud Run! We added more teams and individual slots this year and the race is filling fast! With race day just around the corner, we want to touch base with all our participants concerning race day information. Thank you for choosing our event, we promise to make it memorable and to put a smile on your face!

With the Mud Run just over a month away, here is some information you need to know:

  • Race Weekend Instructions...will be available March 11 at www.bigsurmudrun.org and will also be emailed to all participants. Please take the time to read these as they contain important information about bib mailing, parking, event waves and more.

  • Attention Team Captains... Lots of teams out there still don't have any members! You need to add your team members to the team you created...or they can add themselves.  Also, if the team captain is running on the team he/she created, he/she needs to join the team as a team member.  Being captain does not automatically make one a member! To become a team member on an existing team, click HERE.  If you need someone removed from your team so that you can add a new member, email sally@bsim.org.   

  • Need to find a hotel?  We have partnered with ARES, an online travel network.  Click HERE to check out prices and availability of properties throughout the Monterey Peninsula and Salinas. The Hyatt Regency Monterey is also a hotel partner and you can book a room there by clicking HERE.  

  • Other items to note...Bibs will be mailed to all individuals and team captains shortly before race weekend. All others, as well as late entrants, may be picked up race morning.  The individual division race begins at 8:00 AM in four waves, and the team division at 10:00 AM in four waves.  More specific information will be available in the forthcoming Race Weekend Instructions.  

  • We welcome MarathonFoto as our official race photographer for the 2013 Mud Run. Your pictures will be available for viewing and purchase shortly after this year's event.  

  • Having fun racing as a team?  Consider signing up for a 5-person relay at the upcoming Big Sur International Marathon.  Legs range from 4.5 to 6.5 miles, but you can run multiple legs if you wish.  Spots are still open for the Marathon Relay, the 9-Miler and the 5K on Marathon Sunday, April 28.  Click here for more info. 

  • Registration for the November 17, 2013 Big Sur Half Marathon on Monterey Bay will open on April 1, 2013 at 7:00 AM at www.bigsurhalfmarathon.org. This gently rolling scenic course offers stunning ocean views and is perfect for the first time half marathoner.
