8 years ago all of Texas said it was impossible to save the $25 million virgin Fort Worth Prairie Park from being bulldozed for development.
Yet it's still alive today thanks to your support. We've worked long and hard. Now, the unfortunate news is the Texas General Land Office recently did sell it to Canadian developers, but a new door has opened, and we may be able to work with them to save the most important heart.
We can still build this beautiful swooning Prairie Park for people and wildlife. With your continued support, we'll be able to complete this long effort, thus saving one of the most pristine prairies left in North Texas.
In a couple months, the Monarch butterfly's southward continental migration will begin, and the Fort Worth Prairie Park's Monarch Cathedral, as well as it's massive expanse of nourishing prairie wildflower nectar, will be still here for them to refuel and rest.
Great Plains Restoration Council and our partners are working to make sure this refuge stays healthy and alive for a very long time.
We will keep you posted.
