You Talk, We Listen
The 2016 Annual Meeting in Review
IRI is a member-driven organization dedicated to serving the innovation and R&D management profession. We base our content and approach on what our members have to say and what their needs are that we might be able to fulfill. Our members have spoken about the value of attending our Annual Meeting:
"Mind blowing keynotes. Excellent collaboration in general. Great breaks for discussion."

"Keynotes were fantastic. Discussion topics were helpful and informative."
"Award speakers were transformational."

Anecdotal comments from our members about our meeting are invaluable to us, but the overall survey data tells an even better story:

90% of attendees said they are likely or very likely to recommend the IRI Annual Meeting to others
86% said the content was very to extremely relevant to their jobs
94% said the networking value was good to excellent
5% said they will take steps to "radically transform and improve"  aspects of their work based on the content of the 2016 Annual Meeting
The highest rated speaker:

Bernie Meyerson
VP of Innovation at IBM
98% of attendees said his talk was good to excellent!

We asked our members "What is the benefit of participating with IRI?" Below are a few responses.
"Through a contact made at the IRI Annual Meeting, we have jointly sought and won funding. We have made new research partners."

"Benchmarking. I can see what others do, and how they measure themselves."
"My colleague raised a question with our IRI rep and she connected him on the same day with a senior leader who spent time by phone and provided highly valuable insights."

"Over the past couple of meetings, I have done a lot of networking and benchmarking around Portfolio Management and we are now getting ready to bring many of those ideas into our company."

Network with Your Neighbors
IRI offers opportunities for R&D practitioners to network to build better business relationships across industries. Among these opportunities are our Regional Meetings -- small group settings where locally based R&D managers can interact with their co-located peers over the course of a single evening. If you want to give your team a small taste of the IRI experience, this is a great place to start.

This year's Regional Meetings have a theme:
"Commercializing New Technology"

"[IRI's Regional Meeting in New Jersey] far surpassed any preconceived expectations I had formed prior to attending. The conversation and discussion was frankly just short of incredible. It was great to pick the brains of so many seasoned veterans of innovation and to watch them interact amongst peers."

Government Personnel Exchange Rulemaking
Let Your Voice Be Heard
The United States Government is interested in increasing the economic impact of federally-funded research and development by accelerating and improving the transfer of new technologies as part of the Lab to Market Cross Agency Priority Goal. Collaboration between federal labs in support of US businesses is an important part of this strategy.

You are invited to review and comment on a recently published Personnel Exchanges Notice of Proposed Rule Making in the Federal Register. Although the proposed rule is somewhat limited in scope, this is part of a larger dialogue on how federal labs can better work with businesses to innovate and advance new products. Your ideas are welcome! The comment period will be open through July 27th.
