On October 1, 2013, Protective Life Insurance Company ("Protective Life") acquired MONY Life Insurance Company ("MONY") from the AXA Financial Group ("AXA"). As part of this acquisition, Protective Life also became the reinsurer of an in-force book of life insurance policies issued by MONY Life Insurance Company of America ("MLOA") primarily prior to 2004. Protective Life has collaborated with AXA to create a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help eligible term policy owners and their advisors understand the options for conversion.

Key Reminders for a Winning Year End


The 2014 Year-End Deadline is 12/19/2014. To guarantee compensation in 2014, all delivery requirements "In Good Order" (IGO), including the premium, must be received by Prudential no later than 12/19/2014, 4 pm ET. (Cases placed and active on our administrative system by 12/24/2014 will generate compensation for 2014).

 
New Alternative Rate Values
Minnesota Life/Securian Indexed Life Illustration Update

In an effort to further educate consumers and support the new proposed American Council of Life Insurer's (ACLI) illustration guidelines, Minnesota Life and Securian Life, a New York authorized insurer, has adopted new Alternative Rate Values into all Indexed Life Illustrations. 

The new Alternative Rate columns have been incorporated into the current ledger, displayed to the left of the selected illustrated rate columns, and will show how the IUL contract will perform under an alternative performance scenario, showing the impact to death benefit, cash values and distributions.

The Alternative Rate is automatically calculated as the lesser of the mid-point between the 0% floor and the selected rate, or the Variable Loan Rate, if the Variable Loan option is selected. All solves within the illustration calculations will continue to use the selected illustration rate.
