Know Someone in an Interesting Career?
Presenters wanted for Soar With Your Dreams career conference
Do you know a meterologist or a veterinarian? How about someone who creates video games for a living? Or maybe a medical researcher? We're looking for presenters for Soar With Your Dreams 2015, the annual career conference that Forest Grove School District sponsors for students in grades 5-8. The presenters are people working in a particular field who present hands-on sessions about that career. The power of the conference is that the sessions are hands-on where students get to see and do things related to that career. For example, in last year's law enforcement session, students dusted soda cans for fingerprints and investigated a criminal case. In the TV news session, students interviewed each other on camera and filmed an actual news segment. A wide variety of careers are offered, about two dozen in all. The presenters all volunteer their time and expertise to help students get excited about the wonderful career options available to them.

This year's conference will be on Saturday, March 12 from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Pacific University. Please email Connie Potter with names and contact information for any presenters you would like to recommend.
