Denis Honored As An Outstanding Science Teacher 
Forest Grove High School Science Teacher Charlotte Denis has been selected for an Outstanding Classroom Teacher Award from the Oregon Science Teachers Association. She was honored at the organization's recent conference. Awardees are selected based on their ability to motivate student achievement and excitement in science, community and administrative support, ability to support and mentor new and pre-service teachers, and overall contributions to the profession. 
Be There! Homecoming Parade & Football Game Friday
Join the fun at Friday's Homecoming parade! The parade starts at 4 p.m. at the FGSD Central Administrative Office and winds through downtown, finishing up at Forest Grove High School. There will be floats, music and Homecoming royalty. Forest Grove is one of the few communities in the state that still has a Homecoming parade. The action continues with the Homecoming football game at 7:15 p.m. against McKay High School.

Tickets Now On Sale For Christmas With Trail Band

Tickets are on sale now for Christmas With the Trail Band, the annual holiday concert sponsored by the Education Foundation of Forest Grove. The concert will be held on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at Forest Grove High School. Tickets are $20 for general admission or $25 for reserved seating and can be purchased at the Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce, 2417 Pacific Ave. Tickets can be purchased online starting Oct. 26.

Did you know there is a "Donations" page on the district website? This is a place where staff can list requests for donations for their classrooms. Services Saturday For Former Teacher Rosemary Kemper-Riddock
We're sad to share news about the death of Rosemary Kemper-Riddock, a longtime teacher in the Forest Grove School District. She later served as an elementary principal in the Seaside School District. Rosemary died Monday following a short illness. Funeral services will be held this Saturday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Of Victory Catholic Church in Seaside. The family suggests donations in Rosemary's name to Food 4 Kids Seaside Oregon, PO Box 2611, Gearhart, OR 97138.  Link to obituary
