Parent Academy Classes Offer Resources To Parents
We all know that parent involvement is a powerful influence on children's achievement in school. That's why the district offers monthly parent education classes through our Parent Academy. The classes are on topics aimed at helping parents become more knowledgeable and involved in their children's education. Two series of classes are offered -- one open to all parents (with child care and interpretation provided) and one for ELL and Migrant parents that is conducted in Spanish. Please invite parents to participate whenever they can in any of these free classes!

Bits & Pieces

Cornelius - Bring the entire family to check out the Cornelius Fire Station between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., take a fire engine ride, learn how to save a life using only CPR and sit in a police car (and not go to jail!). There will be free coloring books for kids.

Forest Grove - A Public Safety Open House will be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Forest Grove Fire Station. Activities include fire station tours, fire engine rides and equipment demonstrations. Everyone is invited to attend and visit with those who serve the community.

  • Tickets go on sale Oct. 26 for Christmas With the Trail Band, the annual holiday concert sponsored by the Education Foundation of Forest Grove. The concert will be held on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at Forest Grove High School. Stay tuned for more information!
  • ReVoiced, an a cappella quintet, will perform at Forest Grove High School on Friday, Oct. 16 as a fundraiser for the FGHS Choir program. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students. ReVoiced travels throughout the country, performing concerts in the evening and working during the day with school choirs.
Have You Downloaded The District Mobile App?
If you haven't yet downloaded the district's free mobile app, now is a good time to do it! Just go to the Apple Store or Google Play and search for "FGSD".  If you downloaded our previous mobile app, you should update it to see the new version. The updated version includes calendars and staff directories for each school, sports scores and schedules, news updates and much more.
