Join the fun -  Corn Roast & Sidewalk Art Festival!
A jam-packed day of fun and activities is planned for Forest Grove's annual Sidewalk Art Festival and Corn Roast on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The Sidewalk Art Festival runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, on Main Street in downtown Forest Grove. Groups or individuals can create sidewalk designs using pastel chalk. Cost is $12 ($7 for Valley Art Association members). There will also be free live music and entertainment.

From noon to 5 p.m. is the 50th annual Corn Roast, held on the campus of Pacific University. Sponsored by the Forest Grove Chamber of Commerce, the event is free. Visitors can purchase burgers, sausages, hot dogs and of course fresh-roasted corn. The day also includes interactive displays, live entertainment, a quilt exhibit and children's activities, including an obstacle course. A tradition is to introduce new teachers in the Forest Grove School District. The introduction will take place about 3 p.m. on the stage, and all new teachers are invited to attend.
