A FUN SURPRISE FOR OUR KIDS IN TZ
Normally the things we are able to take to our students in Tanzania are items of necessity, like solar lamps for studying at night (see the solar light story below). But, occasionally, we are able to take things that are just for fun. So it was last year when a donor provided 120 pair of designer sunglasses! In Tanzania, sunglasses are a luxury only for people who can afford them. None of our kids had sunglasses. So, letting them choose a pair of sunglasses was a lot of fun for them and for us! Many thanks to the donor!

A BIG ASANTE SANA!
A very big "Asante Sana!" (Swahili for "Thank you very much!") to all who contributed to our year-end fund raising appeal. Your responses far surpassed our expectations! We are very grateful.
Your gifts insure that students like Dorcas Nnko will be able to complete her training at Machame Clinical Officer Training College to become a physician's assistant. She is eager to serve in a hospital or clinic setting serving many in urgent need of medical care.
The opportunities to support such worthy students stretch far into the future and we want to be sure that the financial resources to do so will always be there. For that reason, we invite you to consider our Godparents for Tanzania Endowment Fund. Gfits to the G4TZ Endowment Fund, established in 2010, are an investment in the Hope for Education which so many Tanzanian children have. We also have resources to assist those interested in planned giving. For more information, please contact Mr. Bruce Swanson at bruce@portfoliodesignservices.biz. |

ST. STEPHEN'S KIDS LIGHT THE NIGHT!
Vacation Bible School children at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, VA decided they wanted to raise funds to provide solar study lights to Godparent for Tanzania students many of whom have no electricity in their homes. Members of the congregation were so impressed with the decision their children made that they provided matching funds! Over $2,000 was raised which will provide about 180 solar lights for our students!
Another big "Asante sana" goes to the kids of St. Stephen who have changed lives for the better in Tanzania!
