PMA Fresh Summit
The Produce Marketing Association's mission statement is "to connect, inform and deliver industry solutions that enhance members' prosperity." What better way to implement this motto than by hosting a convention where people all over the industry can congregate, make new connections, and expand their business. With over 19,000 participants it's easy to see why people from all over the country flock to PMA Fresh Summit.
Taking place in Atlanta, Georgia from October 23-25th the PMA Fresh Summit featured many showcases including: Fresh Ideas, Just 4 Kids, and On-The-Go. The convention also offered great opportunities to network through the use of educational workshops. With record shattering attendance, and attendees from 63 different countries, it's easy to see that PMA is the place to be if you're looking to make new connections. "The foot-traffic was great at our booth, with numerous companies inquiring about our array of brokerage services. Additionally, we had great conversations with current customers regarding their business growth, and new challenges that the Allen Lund Company can help them overcome," stated Steve Hull, Manager of the Portland office.Throughout the convention awards were presented for products, booths, and excellence in packaging. Business cards and friendly interactions were exchanged in the hopes of creating new business prospects. As the Allen Lund Company attends every year, we prepare and take full advantage of all opportunities presented to us.
"Our custom TMS solution was a big hit at the PMA Fresh Summit. Representatives from our software division, ALC Logistics, were busy throughout the show giving demos and explaining the benefits of an automated logistics system," stated Kenny Lund, Vice President of Support Operations. "The most talked about capability was the live load tracking that gives load visibility and saves money by lowering claims. It anticipates the coming FSMA rules and puts companies in the driver seat when managing their produce loads."
We eagerly await next years' show scheduled for October 14-16th, 2016 in Orlando, FL.
