La Cañada Flintridge Calif., January 7, 2014 - The Allen Lund Company acquired Northern Freight Service, Inc. on January 2, 2014. 

Northern Freight Service, Inc. was established in 1989.  They join Allen Lund Company as a fellow TIA member (TIA Performance Certified) and a Smartway Transport Partner.  Their continued services and expertise are in: truckload, LTL, and intermodal, with customers ranging from small shippers to Fortune 500 shippers.  

At the helm of the Madison, WI office is former President of Northern Freight Service, Inc., Rick Barker.  Barker has many years of experience in the transportation industry.  Prior to his 24 years of building Northern Freight Service, Inc., he was a partner of DRG Express, General Manager of Princl Freightlines, Inc., and an owner operator/dispatcher/operations manager at Pirkle Refrigerated Freight Lines, Inc.  "I am extremely excited that Northern Freight Service is now part of the Allen Lund Company.  We share the same culture: working hard to do the right things for our customers, carriers, and employees.  Our full service brokerage model will continue to grow by providing great service, with the added strength, resources and technology Allen Lund Company provides.  We look forward to our future with the company as the Madison office," stated Barker.
