I joined Literacy Connexus . . .

. . . after seeing the true heart, love, and care this team has for people of all nations. Changing lives and giving others hope for a better future is what Literacy Connexus and ESL are all about. Literacy Connexus can partner with you or your organization in many ways, whether you are looking for support, fresh ideas, or training opportunities.

As an ESL teacher I have met people from many different nations and cultural backgrounds. I am always encouraged by their desire to learn the English language. Many non-English speakers just need a little encouragement and a sense that someone is cheering for them from the sidelines. This is where we come in. Learning a new language is not easy, but many are ready and willing to sacrifice their time and work hard at it.

Through this ministry God has brought me many new friends--my students. They share the ups and downs of their lives with me. We get to dream together (some for ESL Class the first time in their lives see hope), plan our goals together, and when we accomplish a goal we rejoice together. As a faith-based teacher I also get the opportunity to plant seeds and continually pray God's will for their lives.

If you are looking for a ministry in which you will be transformed and grow a love for God's people more than you could ever imagine, then teaching ESL is for you. I encourage you to contact Literacy Connexus and learn more about this life-changing ministry.
