In the market for a few great typefaces for sign work--for free?
Ken Tamashiro, Ken's Custom Signs, Los Alamitos, California, often sends SignCraft tips on typefaces he's found that work great on signs, and even has a few you can get without spending a dime.
"I wanted to let SignCraft readers know about a font they can get for free from House Industries," says Ken, "called House Slant. It's a very useful workhorse style for sign work. While you're on the House Industries site, take a look through the typefaces that they have available-like Smidgen and the Sign Painter Collection.
"You'll also find some great free fonts on Myfonts.com. They also have some other great type for sign work like Sreda, a serif font with that sign painter look."
