FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Arlington, Virginia, April 23, 2013: Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia announces with gratitude a $150,000 grant by E*TRADE Bank. This grant makes E*TRADE Bank a premier "Golden Hammer" sponsor of a new home that the non-profit organization is building on Douglass Avenue in Falls Church, Virginia. E*TRADE Bank's sponsorship also supports Habitat for Humanity's Land Fund, a future home-build site, and a sponsorship of the organization's fall benefit breakfast.
Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia Executive Director, Reverend Jon Smoot, expressed his appreciation by saying, "We are so grateful for the generous support from E*TRADE Bank, and for its ongoing commitment to assist us to provide affordable home ownership opportunities to hard-working, lower-income families in Northern Virginia" Site clearing and ground breaking for the new three bedroom, two bath single family home on Douglass Avenue, in the historic James Lee/Tinner Hill neighborhood of Falls Church is scheduled for June 25th. A family will be chosen in the coming weeks to partner with Habitat, and will provide at least 500 hours of its own "sweat equity" during the Falls Church construction. As part of E*TRADE Bank's sponsorship, the Company's employees will also have the opportunity to take part by volunteering hours on the construction of this new home build.
