Greetings!
This is news too big to hold for next month's Habitat Herald -- I am very excited to announce the launch of a new social networking and fundraising platform for Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia, Share.Habitat!
Share.Habitat makes spreading the word about Habitat for Humanity easy! The site connects you with other supporters, and let's you make a real difference for Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia, even without donating.
 Our first campaign is to raise $18,000 to support site readiness for our new home build on Douglass Avenue, in Falls Church. Site clearing for this single family, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home will begin by early Summer, with construction slated for the Fall. We had over 90 people attend an orientation for prospective Habitat Homeowners, showing the critical need for affordable homes in our area!
I invite you to visit Share.Habitat, and join us in our campaign. Now is a great time to donate, too, since Capital One Bank has made a $5,000 initial gift and is matching all donations made through Share.Habitat, through March 22nd, up to an additional $5,000 (for a total of $10,000!)
