THIS WEEK
Dear BidAmount - eBay users,

Some great listings this week, including some new sellers we've not featured before.  All together we've come across hundreds of good listings, most with no reserves and low starting prices. Including jades, Wanli and early Qing porcelains, robes and some very fine 18th and 19th C. Famille Rose examples.

 Thank you,
Peter Combs

Kangxi and the Jesuits
A little known fact, during the 1690's Kangxi had become so accepting of the Jesuits in China, he began studying Euclid, practical geometry and Christian philosophy under the guidance of Father's Anthony Thomas, Jean-Francois Gerbillion and Joachim Bouvert. Kangxi became further fond of them when in 1693 Father Bouvert cured Kangxi or malaria using "Jesuits Bark" also known as Quinine. Kangxi despised most Chinese medical treatments, including acupuncture.
