The Kilns at Dehua
Located in the mountains north of Amoy consisted of over 175 family owned kilns capable of holding as many as 13,000 piece per firing. Which was approximately 3 months of work for the family, the kilns then took a week to be brought to the right temperature. The temperature was deemed correct based almost solely on the color of the flames.
