REPORT FROM
THE NATIONAL FORUM ON
POLICE CRIMES
Thank you to the many people who participated in, and otherwise contributed to, our National Forum on Police Crimes the weekend of May 16-17, at the International House of the University of Chicago. We are looking forward to this being the harbinger of more forums and united actions against police crimes. Please take a few moments to read the report about the Forum, many people traveled from across the US to participate, meeting up with lots of Chicago folks and those from surrounding areas. Many victims of police crimes and their loved ones were there, traveling from near and far and against many arduous circumstances. In order to approach the breath & depth of police crimes nationwide people spent focused time at the Forum in various organizing groups (breakouts). Just click on the links below to access each of the breakout summaries and resolutions for national actions. The page describing each breakout includes a way for you to sign up to get involved with that specific work and community. One thing came through loud and clear when we met in Chicago:
People perceive a widespread problem across the country, police crimes are nationwide, structurally racist and against the poor, impacting many different communities: this demands a unified response. READ THE FULL REPORT
