Special Announcement
 from Temple Emek Shalom
541-488-2909

Dear Hevre/Friends,

We are excited to announce a Temple Emek Shalom trip to Israel for Spring Break
(March 16-March 29), 2015!

We are designing the trip to work for folks who have never been to Israel before, as well as for those who would like to return. Rabbi Jacqueline Brodsky will be the trip organizer, and the trip will be led by Rabbi Joshua Boettiger and Chazzan Bella Feldman. If you or your family are potentially interested and/or would like more information, please contact Rabbi Jackie at [email protected]. Not only will the cost be reasonable but there will be partial scholarships available, as well.

Highlights will include time on the beaches and bustling Mediterranean streets of Tel Aviv; hiking in the north amidst the wildflowers and hills of the Galillee and Golan; studying mysticism in Tsfat; touring the beautiful Negev desert; and of course, exploring the living history of Jerusalem. We will be staying in Kibbutz guest houses as well as ancient and modern hotels. And best of all we will be learning, discussing, debating, and eating amazing food together - and with our guides, guest teachers and scholars who will join us at different points in the journey.

More than any specific highlights, what the trip really offers is a chance to experience firsthand the vibrancy of Israel. In our experience leading trips, everyone is changed by their time there: it will deepen your Jewish journey, it will uncover previously hidden parts of yourself, and it will bring you more fully into the world. This is a wonderful opportunity for our community, and we hope to share this experience with as many of you as possible.

B'vrachot/in blessing,

Rabbi Joshua Boettiger
Rabbi Jacqueline Brodsky
