Important Message from the Head of School, Paul Raymond

As we wrap up our first trimester of the year, we are headed into a busy and exciting time in the life of our school.

First, our teachers are looking forward to meeting with you at the upcoming Parent Conferences on Thursday, Nov 13 and Friday, Nov 14. If you haven't already signed up, please do so right away! CLICK HERE  These conferences are essential to our partnership with you. It's a wonderful opportunity to sit down with you, one on one, to review your child's progress and make a plan for his/her success moving forward. Your child's written progress report will be hand delivered to you just a few days before the conference.

(Please click on the link below to read some important information about varying conference formats and CASA/child care on conference days.)

Second, you are about to receive an important letter in the mail from our Board of Trustees, inviting you to participate in the first of many opportunities to help us shape the future of our school. Those opportunities are wrapped up into a broader strategic planning initiative and will involve some surveys and focus groups. You are cordially invited to attend the first event on Tuesday, November 11 from 5-7pm in the library at GMS. This event is an Open Community Forum to share and gather information on our master campus plan.

We have some exciting possibilities to explore and the Board has retained a site planning architect to help facilitate our forum, thought processes on campus modernization and subsequent planning efforts.  We ask that you RSVP for this event so that we can know how many people to anticipate and provide enough child care coverage. CLICK HERE TO RSVP TO THE OPEN COMMUNITY FORUM.

Regarding parent conferences, there is going to be a change to the format of our meetings. The change relates specifically to student participation in conferences, and largely has to do with conferences for Elementary and younger.

Please click on the links below to read more about the details and rationale for this change, and for information about child care during the meeting times.

As always, please let me know if you have questions or comments about any of this information. My office door is open!

Sincerely,

Paul Raymond, Head of School

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT CASA  - We have experienced increased demand for our CASA program this year, which is great news for us. Unfortunately it also means that we do not have any space for drop-in students in the Toddler and Primary CASA programs, and there is only limited availability for Lower El, Upper El and Middle School drop-ins.  This applies to the after school program as well as All Day CASA on workdays and conference days.

If your family does not use the All Inclusive CASA option, please be sure to check the school calendar and drop-in CASA availability well in advance so you are not caught in a lurch for coverage at the last minute.
