PA One Book, Every Young Child
Needs You!
Would you be a PA One Book Reader?
Can you read a children's book? Great! You may qualify to be a host Reader for Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child in April 2014!
What's required?
All you need to do is register to be a Reader, then show up and read to young children in an early learning program! You can select your preferred dates and locations, and you'll be matched with an early learning provider or program in your community. You'll even be given a copy of the book!
What will you read?You'll read an awesome book, that's what! The 2014 PA One Book, Every Young Child selection is Stripes of All Types by Susan Stockdale and it depicts diversity and characters who bring their own spin on the action by using simple text and colorful photographs.
What's in it for you?
Not only will you experience smiling faces of children who love hearing a great book, but you'll make an impact in early literacy.

Registering is easy. Click your region below and provide your information. You'll be contacted your reading site dates and information, and receive your reading packet, which includes a copy of the book.

What is the Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child Campaign?
One Book, Every Young Child is Pennsylvania's collaborative project using the vehicle of One Book, One State program to highlight the importance of early literacy development.
The month-long celebration of the PA One Book starts on April 1, 2014 and will include the Week of the Young Child (WOYC), April 6-12, 2014.
Volunteer readers will read within early learning programs like child care centers, PA Pre-K Counts and Head Start classrooms. |
